We got word that we made the finals in the TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield in San Francisco. The competition started out with 29 companies and was steep. Many described this year’s batch as the most formidable in the history of the competition. Needless to say, advancing is a huge deal for Layer and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

We also couldn’t be more thrilled about your overwhelming support thus far. In just 24 hours, more than 1,000 developers around the world have come to our website and applied to be among the first given access to the Layer SDK. This list includes some of the most well-respected and accomplished developers. Unbelievable. And there are new signups every minute. Humbling.

But there’s still a great deal of work to be done, and we need your help. Please help us spread the word about Layer between now and the finals at 3:00 PT today. Please tweet @LayerHQ share on Facebook and whichever other place you can why Layer is so important to the Internet.

We promise to work exhaustively to deliver the new, open communications layer for the Internet, and enable you to deliver rich messaging voice and video features in the products and services you build.

We’re just getting started, and today’s a big day. Watch Tomaz, Ron and Rok live in the finals at 3:00 here and help cheer them on.
