Angelo Sotiracopoulos

Founder & CEO

Angelo Sotiracopoulos is the Founder and CEO of Layer, a Greek-American entrepreneur redefining how art lives in the world. At 19, Sotiracopoulos co-founded DeviantArt, the pioneering platform that became home to the world’s largest community of digital artists. After DeviantArt’s acquisition by Wix in 2017, he joined their leadership team to expand creative tools for millions of users. With Layer, he continues building equitable ecosystems that bring digital art into daily life with depth and permanence.

Ben Wolstenholme

Chief Creative Officer

Ben Wolstenholme is Layer’s Chief Creative Officer, a multidisciplinary artist and director whose work bridges storytelling, visual identity, and emerging technologies. Wolstenholme co-founded global branding firm Moving Brands and immersive platform Madefire, where he pioneered motion-driven storytelling and living identity systems. His work has been exhibited at Art Basel and SXSW, earned a Gold Cannes Lion, and been featured by Apple and Microsoft. He remains focused on creating work that moves people through art, design, and culture.

Gilles Dubuc

Chief Technology Officer

Gilles Dubuc is Layer’s Chief Technology Officer, bringing over two decades of experience leading distributed engineering teams. At Wikipedia, Dubuc designed core infrastructure supporting over one billion monthly visitors and helped shape the organization’s engineering culture. He led the Wikimedia Foundation’s membership in the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) as Advisory Committee representative, collaborating directly with major browser companies to drive innovations across the broader web ecosystem.
