How do I install my Layer Canvas?
Installing your Layer Canvas is simple. Each unit ships with the necessary hardware for both wall and ceiling mounting, along with a quick-start overview. A standard power outlet and Wi-Fi are all you need. For detailed steps and to get started, refer to The Layer Installation Guide. Once installed and powered on, connect your Canvas to the Layer app. From there, your living art experience begins.
For the cleanest installation, where should I place an electrical outlet?
For wall-mounted installs, the outlet is best placed directly behind the Canvas, centered 61 inches (1.55 meters) from the floor. For ceiling hangs, it should be tucked into the ceiling cavity (just like a chandelier).
Will Layer Canvas light up my room like a TV?
No, the Layer Canvas is deeply intelligent about light. It harmonizes with your space, never overpowering it. The Canvas responds to ambient light, adjusting subtly to mood and time of day.
Does Layer listen to you or record anything?

What happens after my three-year Layer Curation subscription ends?
Every Layer Canvas includes a three-year subscription to our Layer Curation. After that, you’ll have the option to continue for a subscription fee, keeping your experience fresh and evolving. Prefer to pause? You can lock in your favorite works. There may be a small royalty to the artist, but it won’t be a material cost. Either way, the art remains on your wall.
