Frequently Asked Questions

What is Layer Curation?

Layer Curation is a living collection of digital fine art, hand-selected by Layer's curators and developed in collaboration with the artists. It includes over 250 works with limitless variations, with new pieces added regularly, and is designed to be lived with rather than looked at once.

Which artists are in the collection?

The collection includes Casey Reas, Zach Lieberman, Leander Herzog and JERES, among others. Every artist, work and motion is selected with intent. Layer does not accept open submissions, but welcomes suggestions through the submissions page.

How is the art chosen for my wall?

Layer's proprietary Art Intelligence sequences the collection to your space, adapting to the time of day and the rhythms of the room. You do not need to do anything. The collection stays fresh on its own.

Can I adjust the artworks?

Yes. Generative works are interactive. Through the Layer app you can shape parameters like density, color and speed, and save your own one-of-one variants.

How much is Layer Curation?

Layer Curation is $99 per month with a Canvas pre-order. Founder Edition owners receive three years of Curation included.

Do the artists get paid?

Yes. Artists on Layer earn ongoing royalties based on how long their work is viewed, through Layer's ViewTime model. Fully exclusive works earn a higher return per view.
