What is Layer Canvas, and how does it differ from the Founder Edition?
Layer Canvas is the next generation digital art display from Layer. It is the same size as the Founder Edition, with updates to the external design and some display details. The Founder Edition is limited to 125 units and includes three years of Layer Curation, a two-year warranty and white-glove installation support. It is available now.
Does Canvas include Layer Curation?
Yes. It runs the same Layer Curation collection and the same Art Intelligence engine that determines what shows and when. You get access to the full library, including Casey Reas, Zach Lieberman, Leander Herzog and JERES, across a library of over 250 works, with more added every month. The collection is valued at over $3 million and growing.
What size is Canvas?
Canvas has the same physical dimensions as Founder Edition: 1099 x 1099 x 52.5 mm / 43.3” / 43.3” / 2.1”
What does the $99 deposit get me?
Your $99 holds your place in the Canvas pre-order queue. Pre-order customers receive their units first, before public sale deliveries.
Is the deposit refundable?
Yes. Fully refundable at any time before your unit ships.
What's the final price?
Layer Canvas is $6,999 USD plus applicable taxes. Your $99 deposit holds this price for you through ship date.
The Layer Curation subscription is $99 USD per month.
When does Canvas ship?
We anticipate the initial pre-orders will ship Q4 2026. Pre-order participants are first in line.
When will I pay the balance?
We'll reach out approximately 30 days before your unit ships to collect the remaining balance, secure your Layer Curation subscription, confirm your delivery address, and walk through the next steps.
How do I install my Canvas?
Canvas units are a simple wall mount, the same level of difficulty as mounting a TV. Directions will be included with your unit.
Is Canvas available outside the US?
Canvas pre-orders are only available in the US.
What if I decide I'd prefer a Founder Edition?
Get in touch. We can apply your deposit toward a Founder Edition unit, which is available now and includes three years of Layer Curation.
