Alycia Rainaud

Alycia Rainaud (aka Malavida) is a French graphic designer and digital artist based in Montreal. She began working under the Malavida name in 2016, making abstract images daily as a way of putting feeling and complexity into visible form. The work is highly saturated and dark, building surreal landscapes out of colour that seems to ooze and drift. Her practice moves between offset and silkscreen printing, painting, 3D rendering, virtual reality and algorithmic systems, and she is drawn to publishing design, hybrid books, and the places where new technology meets mental health.
