About the artist
Rik Oostenbroek is a Dutch visual artist whose abstract, expressive work has shaped digital art for more than sixteen years. Self-taught, he moves between mixed media, 3D form and experimental illustration, composing with colour, texture and light. He came to the work by accident, discovering image-making software around 2006 with no creative background, and began posting abstract images online as a teenager; a commission at eighteen set the direction of his career. He chose to teach himself rather than study formally, and now works from a studio in the Stookplaats district of Hilversum, after periods spent working in New York, Montreal and Los Angeles. He was named among Lürzer's Archive 200 Best Digital Artists.
