Yonkers Vidal

Yonkers Vidal is the working name of Marc-Andre Yonkers-Vidal, an artist whose work plays between the microscopic and the astronomic. He places drops of transparent and translucent chemical compounds on a sheet of glass and films the reaction through a macro lens, so that something a few millimetres across reads at the scale of a galaxy. He uses no computer-generated imagery and no AI. In 2023 he received the IRIS prize for best visual effects for his work on the film Viking, directed by Stephane Lafleur.
